Jared started Silliker + Partners in 2009 to help businesses, organizations and governments achieve green building certifications, benchmark and optimize building operations, and develop strategies for communication, education, and marketing efforts. The firm also conducts green building research, facilitates industry collaborations, and pursues small urban development projects.
Jared has helped several projects achieve LEED certification, and has benchmarked over 100 buildings using the ENERGY STAR rating system. His more well-known clients have included REI, a national outdoor gear retailer; HOK, a global architecture firm; the New Buildings Institute, a non-profit dedicated to building performance; and the US Environmental Protection Agency.
Jared earned his MBA in Sustainable Business from the Bainbridge Graduate Institute in 2008, and completed the Commercial Real Estate certificate program at the University of Washington in 2015. Prior to Silliker + Partners, he supported EPA’s ENERGY STAR program with The Cadmus Group. In that capacity, Jared helped to develop the “Designed to Earn the ENERGY STAR” recognition program, aimed at commercial building designers. He is also a LEED accredited professional and a board member of the Seattle 2030 District.
Jared has presented a variety of green building topics at conferences including the AIA National Convention, Living Future, NeoCon, AIA+2030, and codeGREEN. He was the 2010 co-chair for AIA Seattle’s “What Makes it Green?” sustainable architecture program that recognizes top green projects in the Pacific Northwest, and sits on the business development committee within the Columbia City Business Association.
